Simple, Transparent Steps to Your Dream Bhutan Adventure

How We Work

Five Simple Steps to Book Your Journey

Step 1: Consultation

1

Contact Thunder Eco Journeys via our website, email, or phone. Tell us about your travel dates, interests, group size, and any special requirements. Our team will respond within 24 hours to discuss your vision for the perfect Bhutan experience. We'll ask questions about your pace preference, budget range, and specific interests—whether that's trekking, cultural experiences, festivals, or spiritual journeys.

Step 2: Custom Itinerary

2

Our experienced travel planners will craft a personalized itinerary specifically for you. This includes detailed day-by-day activities, accommodations, meals, transportation, and entrance fees. You'll receive a comprehensive proposal with photos, descriptions, and exact costs. We include flexibility—you can request modifications, extend stays, add activities, or adjust anything to match your preferences perfectly.

Step 3: Confirmation & Payment

3

Once you're satisfied with the itinerary, we'll send you a formal booking agreement with terms and conditions. We require a 30% deposit to secure your dates and reserve accommodations. The remaining balance is due 60 days before your departure. We accept multiple payment methods including bank transfer, credit cards, and online payment platforms for your convenience.

Step 4: Pre-Trip Preparation

4

60 days before your trip, we'll send you detailed travel information including visa requirements, health recommendations, packing lists, and cultural tips. We'll confirm all details of your itinerary, introduce you to your guide, and provide emergency contact information. We also offer optional pre-trip video calls to answer questions and help you prepare mentally and physically for your adventure.

Step 5: Journey Begins

5

Your guide will meet you at Paro Airport with a warm welcome and a Thunder Eco Journeys sign. From that moment, you're in expert hands. Your guide will accompany you throughout your journey, ensuring safety, comfort, and meaningful experiences. After your trip, we'll request feedback to continuously improve our services. You'll become part of our extended family and receive special offers for future adventures!

Bhutan tourism is regulated—you must book through an authorized tour operator (like us!). We handle all visa arrangements. You'll need a valid passport with 6+ months validity.

Pricing & Discounts

Prices vary based on group size, season, and itinerary. Group bookings, repeat customers, and referrals receive special discounts. All-inclusive packages ensure transparency with no hidden costs.

Your Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should my Bhutan trip be?

Most first-time visitors spend 5-7 days to experience the highlights. We offer 3-day quick tours up to 14+ day in-depth journeys. Longer trips allow deeper cultural immersion.

What's included in the package price?

All-inclusive: accommodation, meals, transportation, guide services, entrance fees, and activities. Flights not included unless specified. International travel insurance optional but recommended.

Do I need travel insurance?

Highly recommended, especially for trekking. We can help arrange comprehensive coverage that includes emergency evacuation. Bhutan is generally safe with modern healthcare in Thimphu.

Is Bhutan expensive?

Daily tariff (per person per night) is fixed at $200-290 depending on season and accommodation class. This is all-inclusive, making it fair value for the quality experience provided.

Can I trek if I'm not very fit?

Absolutely! We offer easy walks and moderate treks suitable for all fitness levels. Tell us your fitness level and we'll customize accordingly. Our guides are patient and supportive.

What about altitude sickness?

Most areas are 2,500-3,100m altitude. Acclimatization is natural. We ascend gradually and provide medications if needed. Serious altitude sickness is rare at these elevations.

What should I pack?

Layers are essential as temperatures vary by elevation. Comfortable hiking boots, warm jacket, rain gear, and modest clothing for temples. We'll send a detailed packing list before your trip.

Can you customize my itinerary?

Yes! That's our specialty. We create completely custom itineraries based on your interests. From our curated experiences to totally bespoke journeys—we're flexible and creative.
